Quick answer: why are curved sofas trending?
Curved sofas are trending because people are looking for more than just a place to sit. They want furniture that brings personality to a room while making it feel comfortable, welcoming, and easy to live in. With their rounded silhouettes and softer lines, curved sofas add visual interest, create more inviting seating areas, and bring a fresh perspective to modern interiors. The Marshbello by Rove Lab is one example, combining 1970s Italian-inspired design with plush SmartFoam™ comfort and modular flexibility.
For years, living room furniture has leaned heavily toward straight lines, sharp corners, and structured silhouettes. But interior design is moving in a softer direction. Organic shapes, rounded furniture, and sculptural pieces are finding their way into more homes, bringing a sense of movement and warmth to spaces that once felt a little too rigid.
A curved sofa is a natural part of this shift. Its shape can change the way a room looks and feels, making the space more relaxed and encouraging people to sit together, talk, and spend time. And unlike a trend that only works in carefully styled interiors, a well-designed curved sofa can be just as practical for everyday living.
That's where the Marshbello sofa collection by Rove Lab comes in. Inspired by the expressive shapes of 1970s Italian design, Marshbello brings sculptural curves and a distinctive personality to the living room. But its appeal goes beyond its looks: a boneless SmartFoam™ construction, modular sections, and easy setup make it a sofa designed to fit real homes and everyday routines.
Embracing the curve: Marshbello’s signature silhouette
The Marshbello sofa doesn’t just incorporate curves; it celebrates them. Its entire form is an ode to softness and roundness. Look at its generously proportioned sections, its gently rounded edges, and the plush form that invites you to sink in. This is a stark contrast to traditional rectilinear sofas that prioritize straight lines and defined corners.
The low-profile silhouette further enhances its grounded, comforting presence. Each module feels like a soft, sculpted form, contributing to a composition that feels both substantial and gentle. This curvature is the Marshbello’s most defining characteristic, and it makes the sofa a natural choice if you want to bring the curved sofa trend into your home with confidence and style.
Beyond trend: sculptural design with lasting character
While the Marshbello aligns perfectly with today's love of curves, its appeal goes deeper than fashion. Inspired by 1970s Italian design, its form has a visual weight and character that goes beyond simple curvature, and it reads more like a sculptural object than a conventional sofa.
The interplay of its soft volumes and its confident presence give it a timeless quality. Because its appeal is rooted in a strong design language, it can remain a captivating centerpiece long after the trend cycle shifts. Curious about where the look comes from? Leading the way: comfort and versatility in curves
Curved sofas, particularly large, fixed designs, can sometimes compromise on comfort or practicality. This is where the Marshbello distinguishes itself. As a boneless couch with no wood or metal frame, it gets its structure and support from Rove Lab’s proprietary SmartFoam™, while upholstery options like Chatou Bouclé or Shearling add a plush, tactile feel.
The Marshbello also avoids the rigidity often associated with statement designs through its modularity. Available as a Marshbello Sectional, Three Seater, or Loveseat, along with individual modules like the Armless and Ottoman, it can be configured to suit different room sizes and layouts. That is a flexibility not always offered by large, fixed curved sofas.

Visual impact: the statement curve in your space
Introducing the Marshbello’s curves into a living space creates an immediate visual impact. Curves soften the perceived geometry of a room, breaking up monotony and improving visual flow. They also lend themselves to more inviting and dynamic seating arrangements than strictly linear layouts.
Imagine the Marshbello anchoring a large, open-plan living area, its curves defining a cozy zone within the larger space. Or picture the Loveseat adding softness and personality to a smaller room without overwhelming it. For ideas on bringing it all together, see our guide on styling a curved sofa.

FAQ - Frequently asked questions
Are curved sofas still in style?
Yes. Curved sofas remain a popular choice in contemporary interiors because they soften a room and add sculptural character. A piece with a strong design language can also feel relevant well beyond any single trend.
Do curved sofas work in small living rooms?
Yes, with the right scale. A low-profile option like the Marshbello Loveseat can add a statement without overwhelming the room. Leave some open space around it so its curves can be seen.
Where should you place a curved sofa?
Curved sofas look best when their shape is visible. If you have the space, float the sofa away from the walls to define a seating area. In a smaller room, an open arrangement with a simple coffee table can keep the look airy.
Are curved sofas comfortable?
That depends on the design. The Marshbello pairs pillowy, marshmallow-inspired forms with high-density SmartFoam™ for soft comfort and lasting support.
Can you rearrange the Marshbello?
Yes. The Marshbello is modular, with hidden zippers that connect each section, so you can rearrange, separate, or add pieces as your space changes.
